Company Profile

Studio 9 Apparel is a privately owned product development and fit consulting firm in Aurora, Colorado – a suburb east of the greater Denver Metro area. We provide pattern making, technical design and sample sewing services on a contract basis to the garment trade.

Our experience spans womens’ and mens’ tailored clothing, technical outerwear, sportswear and athletic apparel for the independent fashion, contemporary and designer markets. Our goal is to provide high-quality craftsmanship and nimble manufacturing with the highest degree of customer service possible.

Studio 9 Apparel has relationships with suppliers of fine silks, shirtings, mens’ suitings, custom knit fabric manufacturers and custom laminated technical fabric suppliers. We can easily source fine fabrics, trims, findings and hardware because of these relationships and the trade shows we attend.

We like to focus on garments for better pricepoint markets because we have experience handling these types of materials in a production setting. We also have the equipment and the fine needle skills required to sew garments to showroom and photo quality the better department stores (e.g. Nordstrom, Fred Segal, etc.) like to see.

We like to participate in the design process. We feel that when the technical staff and the design staff work well together, there are fewer mistakes and work gets finished, sooner. Because the technical staff knows construction very specifically, incorporating our suggestions early can result in an efficient and cost-appropriate outcome.

We also like devising new sewing methods and figuring out tricky details, like hidden zippers in linings and so forth. So, if you give us some latitude, we can usually come back with some clever technical elements you can incorporate into the design to make it distinctive.

Unlike some factories (okay… most factories), we love it when designers are able to participate in the manufacturing process. This two-way approach has the added advantage for spotting and resolving problems before they ship to stores. We encourage designers to assist with quality assurance inspection, bag, tag and pack the finished garments for shipping.
